vmware and parallels are the veterans on the mac virtualisation front.

However if you don’t own a license for any of those and still want to install a Windows XP or Ubuntu on your mac, there’s no need to pay the big buck to have this comodity anymore.

Sun has released a FREE virtualisation software, which runs on Win, Linux and Mac OSX. I have already few virtual machines installed and it works just great, Damn Small Linux loads in just about 15 secs from the CD image and Ubuntu takes a bit more but still great performance.

If you are in need to test with Internet Explorer because of all those who still use, but still enjoy the comfort of your Mac - that’s the solution for free :)
