I was using Skype since its very first versions ... yes that ones when you needed to scan your credit card and send the scan to Moneybookers to make and account and then you could buy some Skype credits ...

However there are more and more things that are annoying me about Skype and I guess I'm looking around for a new communication software that allows me to make cheap calls (please feel free to propose in the comments, but please ! avoid yahoo)

- only me and my girlfriend are using the skype on my mac regulary ... but it NEVER remembers our usernames, in the select box in the login screens it shows the 5 usernames some of my friends used to login 2 YEARS AGO !!

- they keep everything in beta state ... I updated Skype on my linux box, and guess what it's a beta version and it doesn't work at all (chatting is simply IMPOSSIBLE) and guess what on top of that ... you can't go back to the non beta version, simply because on skype.com there's for download just the new beta ... I guess they simply can't afford to pay for beta testers, it's the crisis I guess there too hitting stonger than ever

- beta features make it even in the payment process ... last time I was buying skype credit, the interface was super unresponsive and nothing was happening so I clicked more on the "Next" button, and what a surprise - they charged me 3 times !

- sending application bundles trough skype just doesn't work, unlike for example in Adium - in Adium you drag an app bundle in the chat, hit enter and there you go - a zip file is being sent over to your buddy, but to the ones that don't have icq or aim, you need to do everything by hand if you want to send an app bundle

- when you buy credit, the checkbox for automatic recharging from your credit card is ALWAYS checked and you need to uncheck it, even if you enetered incorrectly other data and you see the form again to correct it, the checkbox just checks itself ... I need to check if that's legal here in Germany, cause they might easily face lawsuits that way ..

There were some more stuff I was thinking about tomorrow but can't really remember now, however I guess the fact they left only the beta for download on the site pissed me off really...
